Project Overview

To ensure successful roll-out and adoption of new of Identity & Access Management (IAM) and Privileged Access Management (PAM) services across a broad array of technology platforms supporting multiple lines of business, the Client desired strategic program support in overall program planning and implementation as well as change management services given breadth and impacts of overall effort. Reference Point supplied a strategic program liaison to partner directly with the Client’s IAM adoption leadership in developing foundational program materials and communications plans, assessing existing blockers and crafting recommended solutions, and producing weekly stakeholder and change reporting regarding overall program progress. The culmination of these efforts helped the Client achieve defined IAM and PAM program objectives.

Solution

  • Reference Point (RP) deployed a strategic program consultant to partner with the Client’s IAM Adoption Leadership Team in planning for and rolling out the new program and associated services.
  • RP held discovery sessions with leadership and the program’s governing organization to organize, develop, refine, and publish foundational materials regarding the program, governance, learning events, and reporting. Focus also included details regarding how to ‘get started’ with deeper dives into the new IAM adoption controls for further learning.
  • Additionally, RP helped develop new status reporting processes and templates as well as produce weekly updates for senior stakeholders, change management analyses, and monthly IAM adoption reports. Ongoing analysis included a review of data behind existing onboarding blockers, paired with recommended solutions.
  • Lastly, Reference Point provided support for stakeholder communications, adoption metrics development, project management materials creation, and other ad hoc requests.

Impact

  • Foundational materials allowed a diverse group of stakeholders to self-service key activities and freed up the IAM Adoption team to increase their onboarding velocity.
  • Data analyses enabled leadership to better understand key issues & blockers and enabled the team to implement solutions to improve the overall onboarding process.
  • Defined status reporting processes enabled increased quality and efficiency of weekly and monthly reporting, allowing leadership to focus on other strategic objectives.
