Drew Lockhart is an Executive Technology Expert at Reference Point as well as an innovative Chief Information Officer, strategic advisor, and board member with deep expertise in integrating new technology and synergizing teams to achieve business goals.
He has played key roles on M&A teams throughout his career and was a driving force in growing Ally Financial into an award-winning online bank with a relentless pursuit of customer excellence. Drew is an approachable leader who is passionate about people; he has a strong instinct for anticipating customer needs and identifying and developing talent.
Drew joined Ally Financial (formerly GMAC) in 2009 and, within 10 years, helped transform the fledgling bank into an online banking industry leader. As Group CIO of Ally Bank, he helped the President create and execute a vision that resulted in obtaining financial holding company status, establishing an IPO, and developing forward-thinking web and mobile capabilities.
Prior to Ally, Drew spent 27 years at Bank of America in roles of increasing responsibility during a nearly constant succession of mergers and acquisitions. As an integral part of many different M&A teams, he helped create a playbook for large-scale technology integrations that identified key capabilities and talent and created a process for integrating acquired technology and people much faster than industry peers.
With a deep desire to continually improve the community he loves, Drew applies his leadership skills as Chairman of the Board for the Charlotte Area Technology Collaborative, helping grow and advance a diverse and skilled technology pipeline for the area. A good listener and thoughtful communicator, he is valued for his ability to identify and prioritize ideas that the not-for-profit is best suited to successfully execute.
